The Ontario Family Court Process – Step by Step

Court is a complicated process with lots of rules. Family court is no different. Many people are afraid of what is going to happen when they go to family court. That is one reason why family lawyers really help people in their divorce, child custody, support or property division cases. Family Court Judges expect people who represent themselves to know how the process works. Even if you have a lawyer, it can still be frightening to be in court if you do not know what is going to happen.

In this video, Certified Specialist in Family Law, John Schuman, describes the Ontario Family Court process from start to finish. He takes you through all the steps from filing the first documents, to your first time going to court, to motions for temporary child custody, child support, spousal support or disclosure, through attempts to settle and then trial. If you want to know what will happen when you go to family court, then watch this video.
